Dusk Along Market Street
This Was a major victory: I Was Able to learn from my mistakes fast enough to Diagnose the Problems and correct them! So Even Though the composition is nothing to write home about, I'm very proud.
The thought process: "The aperture
Needed To Be wide enough for all buildings to Be in focus, and the shutter speed slow enough to let in little light What There Was streetlight and create the cool glow effect.
-Lacking a tripod, I Used to couple photography books and window frame Used to to September the angle. Was
shooting through to window, under a polarizing lens Used to cut back on reflection. "There Was
flare from the lights inside, so a lens Lackinghood I cupped my hands around the lens (and got my fingers in a couple shots!).
-Had trouble focusing the camera Such That the grate Immediately behind the window pane Did not show up. I Wish I Knew What finally Worked: It Was Changing whether the autofocus point or the marginally Longer lens (22mm INSTEAD OF 18mm). I Wish I Knew, Because I'm not sure how to correct the problem if / when it Happens Again. Still
. very pleased.
0.8 second shutter speed, f/4.0, 22mm, ISO 400, -2 / 3 EV
